Mini Dipping
We are lucky enough to have our own sets of snorkelling gear, which we use to train our students in a program called mini dipping. The program is generally run every two years as a prelude to an outdoor camp. Our camp this year takes us back to Queenstown’s Lakeland Park camping facility which will be our base as we pursue many outdoor activities. Camp activities will include; archery,...

23 Artists Are We
Over the past few weeks we have been larning to paint like real artists. Our parintings have developed in detail and complexity. Our last paintings - one based on a Christmas theme - were sent to the painting competition for the Otautau Market Day. Our paintings were a little oversized but we hoped that they could be used to brighten up shops around the town. See if you can spot them when you...

Time to Re-assess
Again it is that time of the year when we need to look at ourselves and assess where we are at, in order to begin to evaluate our year. Tests are being taken, work analysed, and discussions had with all children so accurate data is reported to parents and the students can set new goals to take them through to the end of the year.
I have been really impressed with the work attitude of Room 7 this...

Last Week of Term 3
Book Week is always a great way to finish the term. We really enjoyed the Book Parade, most of our class had chosen to dress up as a character out of a book - we had a Little Red Riding Hood - a Bob the Builder - a Charlotte Pig and lots more - everyone had made a tremendous effort with their cosutmes having put a lot of thought into how they would make their accessories. One of the highlights...

Term 3 Gone!
We have finished the term by really working hard to complete our Tau stories. You should read them, they are wonderful! We have a real variety of historical narratives based around events that have actually happened in and around Otautau. It is going to be a tough job (because they are all so good) sorting out which ones will be selected to go into our school book which is going to be published...
